Rietvlei Nature Reserve is a 4,000-hectare (40 km2) nature reserve located in southern Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. It is about 30 kilometers (19 mi) from Johannesburg. The reserve is home to a variety of wildlife, including cheetah, blesbuck, black wildebeest, red hartebeest, eland, common zebra, waterbuck, reedbuck, springbuck, mountain reedbuck, steenbok, grey duiker, oribi, leopard, buffalo, and hippopotamus. There are also 4 lionesses and 2 male lions kept in a separate enclosure on the reserve.

The reserve was established in 1929 as a conservation area and proclaimed as a nature reserve in 1948. The Rietvlei Dam, which is located within the reserve, was built in the 1930s to provide water for the city of Pretoria. The dam created a large wetland area that is home to a variety of birds and animals.

Rietvlei Nature Reserve is open to the public for day visits and overnight camping. There are a number of hiking trails in the reserve, as well as a bird hide and a picnic area. The reserve is also a popular spot for fishing and boating.
